Santa Barbara Zoo And LGR Video Team Up To Honor Local Philanthropist

Santa Barbara, CA - The Santa Barbara Zoo recently enlisted the creative talents of Ventura-based company LGR Video Productions to produce a tribute video to one of its most generous supporters, Paul Ridley-Tree.

The ten minute video featured comments from fellow Santa Barbara residents Leslie Ridley-Tree (Paul's wife), Andy Granatelli, Michael Towbes, Peter MacDougall, Lea & Eli Luria, Tom Luria, Tom Parker, Former Mayor Harriett Miller and Santa Barbara Zoo CEO Rich Block on the extremely positive impact Paul has had on the Santa Barbara community with special emphasis on the Zoo.

"Although we were working within a tight two week shooting schedule, we were amazingly able to film all of our interview subjects at only two separate locations.  The real challenge was filming the various animals at the zoo.  It required several trips to capture the animals when they were most active," said LGR Video owner Larry Richardson.

Some of the animals featured in the video included Chadwick the Lion, the elephants, otters, a meerkat and the Zoo's newest addition, Docha the Lion Cub.

According to Zoo CEO Rich Block, "We loved the video and we loved working with LGR.  They made it easy for us."

The video was the cornerstone of a special tribute dinner hosted by Monty Python comedian and actor John Cleese and held in Paul's honor where it was announced that the new condor exhibit being built at the zoo will be named the Paul Ridley-Tree Condor Plaza.

LGR Video Cuts First TV Commercial For Mexican Express

Ventura, CA - Camarillo based restaurant chain Mexican Express debuts new commercial spot produced by LGR Video Productions in Ventura.  The premise of the 30 second spot is the brainchild of Mexican Express owner Francisco Rangel.

In the commercial, two dogs are left home alone by their master and call Mexican Express to have hot fresh mexican food delivered as a surprise for him.

"Whenever I show the commercial to someone I always get asked the same question.  How did you get the dogs to talk?", said Larry Richardson, owner of LGR Video Productions.  Although Larry would not divulge the exact method used to create the effect, he did say that it was not done with CG (computer graphics).

"This has been a dream of mine for a long time.  To create this commercial for my restaurant featuring my dog Hunter," said Francisco whose restaurant is decorated with a painting of Hunter driving a car to make a delivery.  According to Francisco, Larry and Robert of LGR Video quickly took his idea and ran with it and in a short amount of time produced the fast-paced commercial.

"It was my idea but they made it work on video and that was something I couldn't have done without their expertise," Francisco exclaimed.

The 30 second spot will run on local cable system Adelphia.
